The jewelry from the Kalevala Heart of the House collection is romantic and tells the story of a love oath. The Heart of the House jewelry series designed by designer Tony Granholm (1966–2018) has a timeless aesthetic. The designer himself sees that the aesthetics of timelessness is a requirement in every piece of jewelry. By this he means that the aesthetic value of the jewelry must be so strong that it lives beyond trends, even though it is always a product of its time.
The aesthetics of timelessness is also more widely displayed in the entire Kalevala jewelry collection. Kalevala has a strong desire to move away from the disposable culture and the goal is to create jewelry collections that last a long time. At Kalevala, we aim to make jewelry that will last from one generation to another and that will also be worn from generation to generation.

The Heart of the House Necklaces and Bracelets

In the Heart of the House pendant, the bigger heart protects the smaller one and creates a beautiful metaphor for love and care. The Heart of the House necklace is available in three different models: a five-heart pendant, a larger heart pendant and a smaller heart pendant. The small Talon Sydän pendant is just as suitable for children as it is for adults who like smaller pendants. Its design language is also slightly more reduced than the larger pendant.

The Heart of the House bracelet is also available in two different models. The simpler model consists of a chain and one heart pendant, while the other model has hearts connected to each other along the entire length of the bracelet. In addition, the THeart of the House jewelry includes earrings, both hanging hearts and hearts with studs.

Handmade Kalevala Jewelry

At the Kalevala, the Finnish tradition of goldsmithing is cherished. More than 80 jewelry professionals work at the Kalevala factory in Konala, Helsinki, and each piece of jewelry goes through an average of ten pairs of hands on the way from raw material to finished piece. These centuries-old craft traditions are combined with modern technology and innovations at the factory. Kalevala jewelry has been awarded the Key Flag Symbol as proof of Finnish work.

The Kalevala factory has also invested in renewable energy, circular economy and minimizing the carbon footprint. The factory runs on electricity obtained from wind power and its own solar panels, and the water used in jewelry manufacturing at the factory is cleaned before it ends up in the municipal sewer network. Part of the water is also recycled back into the production processes. Recycled precious metals are used in the jewelry, just like the Talon Sydän jewelry. 95 percent of silver is recycled and the remaining 5 percent comes from Nordic factories. Some of the bronze used in the bronze jewelry is also recycled.
