Kalevala Classics: Heart Ring, Ring from Perniö and Snake Ring
Kalevala's iconic rings Heart Ring, Ring from Perniö and Snake Ring have maintained their popularity from decade to decade. These rings also give voice to past generations, carry stories and praise the rich ornamentation of our ancestors' jewelry. The Kalevala Heart Ring model comes from Kihniö. The tinkle of the little heart in it calms, makes you happy and drives away bad thoughts. It can be thought of as the voice of our ancestors from the past.
The prototypes of Ring from Perniö and Snake Ring come from the Iron Age. The Perniö ring, which comes from Perniö, as its name suggests, tells the story of the Crusades, when shield-like rings were used throughout the Baltic Sea region. The ring is an indication of the close interaction of Finns with neighboring nations. The prototype of the Kalevala Snake Ring, on the other hand, has been found in Vesilahti. The ring symbolizes strength and fearlessness. Snakes are believed to be immortal because they regenerate their skin.
Modern Vanamo, Valoisa and Kosmos rings
The more modern collection of Kalevala rings is represented, for example, by rings from the Vanamo, Valoisa and Kosmos collections. These rings also carry unique stories. The Twinflower Ring was inspired by Eino Leino's beloved poem Nocturne and tells the story of a shy beauty in the Finnish forest. The Vanamo ring is available with white and pink freshwater pearls. The Kalevala Valoisa ring, on the other hand, tells about the importance of friends and reminds you to also be your own best friend. While the spiral-shaped Kosmos ring reflects the universe around us and the endless migration of celestial bodies.
Design Classics from the Art by Kalevala Collection
The rings of the Art by Kalevala collection are like small works of art, which are created from the designs of top Finnish designers and materialized in the skilled hands of Kalevala's goldsmiths. Those who like showy rings should check out at least the Mask of Gonda ring, Häiväoja Rings and Tundra Rings.
A Popular Kalevala Gold Ring as an Engagement Ring or Wedding Ring
In the Kalevala Love ring collection, you can also find wonderful gold rings for engagement and wedding rings. Kalevala engagement and wedding rings have gold rings that glorify ancient ornamentation, such as the Filigree ring from the 18th century, the Unity Ring that embodies its Crusader-era prototype, or the Viking-era Legend Rring. For those looking for a simpler style, the collection includes, for example, Beloved Ring models in white and yellow gold. Kalevala's gold rings are made of 100 percent recycled 14-carat yellow and white gold.
Finnish Handmade Kalevala Rings
The rings of the Kalevala collection are handmade at the company's own factory in Konala, Helsinki. More than 80 jewelry professionals work at the factory, and even though the factory has invested in modern jewelry manufacturing techniques, each Kalevala ring goes through an average of ten pairs of hands on the way from blank to finished jewelry. In this way, Kalevala cherishes the centuries-old tradition of Finnish goldsmithing, and the Kalevala jewelry has been awarded the Avainlippu symbol as proof of supporting Finnish work.
Recycled precious metals are used in the materials of Kalevala rings. 100 percent of the gold in the rings is recycled and 95 percent of the silver. The remaining five percent in silver rings comes from Nordic mines. Some of the bronze used for the bronze rings is also recycled.
