The Kalevala Legend ring is a new interpretation of the popular Kalevala Metsäpirtti ring!

The yellow gold Legend ring from the Kalevala Love collection was designed by Björne Rajalin in 1956 based on a Viking-era gold ring found in the village of Metsäpirtti in Karelia. An old story tells that it was a gift from a Viking chieftain to the gods above. The chieftain, surprised by a storm, begged the sky-smith to save his troops from a shipwreck, and after they were saved, he sacrificed a golden ring to the gods above in gratitude. The sacrificial gift lay dormant in the beach sand for the next thousand years. Legend is one of the oldest pieces of jewelry in the Kalevala collection. The heart of Eura is engraved on the inner surface of the ring. The narrow Legend ring is 4.3 mm wide and is made entirely of recycled 14-carat white gold.
