The Kalevala Amulet Fortune Bird is inspired by a piece of jewelry from the prosperous Viking Age. The bird was a symbol of happiness, health and success for the northern peoples. In the spring, migratory birds brought with them the promise of summer and the abundant gifts of the land, and because birds could fly, they were believed to act as messengers between people and gods. The bear depicted on the amulet Bear necklace was the king of the forest for the northern peoples, as well as a symbol of power and strength, and for many, of ancient wisdom. The bear was believed to be not only a people of the forest but also a member of the human family. The bear motif originates from the Finnic peoples of the East, and the bear motif has also been seen in Kalevala jewelry in the earliest models. The length of the silver chain of the pendants is adjustable to five different lengths, 40 cm, 45 cm, 50 cm, 55 cm or 60 cm.
