Lily of the valley, Convallaria majalis, is a woodland flower that thrives in lush foliage. In spring, the delicate fragrance of the lily of the valley evokes the anticipation of summer. The delicate white flowers emerge from the green foliage on slender stems. Goldsmith Tony Granholm is reminded of the words of his grandmother, who said that the tongues are at their most beautiful in the forest. It took him years to figure out how to transpose something as vibrant and utterly beautiful as the tongue of his favourite flower into jewellery. In this jewellery set, the graceful bell-shaped blossom and the graceful movement of the tongue are realised in gold, silver and shimmering, bright bronze.
