Lumoava was born in 2008 out of a desire to do something new and different. At the center of all activities and the starting point is the idea of ​​high-quality jewelry design. Lumoava designer Eelis Aleksi came up with the name Lumoava for the brand. The name encapsulates many important things for Lumoava, such as the beauty of jewelry and the surrounding world, the significance of different moments in life, caring for others and the importance of working together. Lumoava is a part of Kuopio-based Saurum Osakeyhtiö, which is one of the oldest jewelry factories in Finland and has influenced the industry for almost 80 years.

Responsibly Manufactured, Finnish Lumoava Jewelry

The designers' sketches take shape in the hands of Lumoava goldsmiths through many work steps. High-quality silver and gold jewelry is created by hand, which combines long-standing jewelry know-how with the latest technologies and innovation.

Lumoava jewelry is made at its own jewelry factory in Kuopio from recycled materials. 99 percent of the gold used in Lumoava's gold jewelry is recycled, and 93 percent in silver jewelry. Also, the "waste" and precious metal dust generated during manufacturing is collected and recycled as material again. Diamonds for Lumoava jewelry are bought from a Finnish broker who guarantees the responsibility of the supply chain.

In addition to the material used in the jewelry, the Lumoava jewelry factory in Kuopio has invested in responsibility in other ways as well. All possible material is recycled, from packaging materials to coffee cups. The chemicals used in jewelry manufacturing are sent to professionals for further processing, and the factory uses circulating water systems in the surface treatment department and for cooling the equipment.
